This year, UNESCO chose the theme: "Preservation of glaciers". At the national level, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources (MERH) retained the sub-theme "Securing fresh water for sustainable development".
WWD objectives
The objective of WWD is to raise awareness among various actors (administrations, economic operators, civil society and youth) about the importance of preserving water in quantity and quality, while maintaining its hydrodynamics in basins.
Specific objectives
- Raise awareness among users about law 011/2023 of July 19, 2023, regulating the water sector.
- Inform about the consequences of surface water quality degradation due to human activities, their misuse, and the effects of climate change.
